What does the NDIS cover?

The NDIS provides funding for a diverse range of supports and services, including but not limited to education, employment, social participation, independence, living arrangements, and health and well-being. To qualify as reasonable and necessary, a support or service must be directly linked to a participant’s disability.

Can I make changes under the NDIS?

Certainly! In the event of changes in your circumstances, you can inform the NDIS or your support provider, and they will collaborate with you to reassess your plan. Additionally, your NDIS plan undergoes a review every 12 months. This process enables you to evaluate the progress made in attaining your goals and assists in establishing new goals for the upcoming year, potentially resulting in modifications to your support needs.

How does the NDIS define disability?

A permanent disability refers to a condition that is expected to persist throughout a person’s life. A significant disability is characterised by a substantial impairment in one’s capacity to independently perform daily tasks. These tasks encompass various aspects such as communication, social interaction, learning, mobility, self-care, and self-management.
